If a Station Master, who does not ordinarily perform
Sunday duty, and therefore does not receive the Commuted Allowance,
is called upon to perform special duty Occasionally, he should be paid
for such duty on the basis of the scale laid down for Sunday work in the
Clerical Agreement, it being understood that in the case of Emergency
Calls on Sundays these are covered by the “on call” Commuted Allowance.
2. – Payment to Station Masters
who have worked in excess of 48 hours per week since August 1st, 1919,
until the 48-hour week concession was put into operation.
Where Station Masters have not been granted the
48-hour week, or have been required to work more than on alternate
Sundays since August. 1st, 1919, they should, upon application, be
granted an additional allowance on a commuted basis, to recompense
them for the additional time worked.
3. – Redundant Staff.
Any men of the above grades who are redundant
should be dealt with as laid down in Clause 12 of the Clerks’
Agreement.
4. – Procedure for dealing with
Applications for Revision of Classification and for Commuted Allowance.
The following additional paragraph (e) to Clause 11 of
the Agreement will operate forthwith:
“The Committee of Departmental Officers referred to
in Clause (c) shall not make an adverse report on any
case until the applicant has been given an opportunity
of appearing before them in support of his case as provided
for in Clause (d).”
5. – Standard Grades-Appendix
“A” to Agreement.
The grade of “Agent” should be added to the
list of standard Grades and the following Grades will be eliminated
and absorbed, as shown hereunder :—
