EXPLANATION OF EXAMPLE No. 1.

      Salary, August 1st, 1919      ...       ...       ...     £150

          advanced to       ...       ...       ...       ...       250
Position classified Class 2 and worked out in accordance with the Agreement gives the following Salary : -
      Old Salary (August 1st)      ...       ...       ...       £150

As the increase in salary exceeds the bonus on new salary, the man would not receive any floating bonus, but as he was receiving on August 6th, 1919, a total of £360 (salary £250+£110) it would be necessary to give him a bonus of £60 to avoid his being worse off, making:—
Total Salary and Bonus      ...       £360
If credit were given under the Settlement as from August 1st,
1919, it would work out as follows:—
      Old Salary (August 6th)       ...       ...       ...       £250
