RELIEF CLERKS AND TEMPORARY RELIEF CLERKS
(EXCLUSIVE OF RELIEF CLERKS AND TEMPORARY
RELIEF CLERKS ATTACHED TO AND EMPLOYED
AT ONE STATION).
The Memorandum of Agreement in regard to rates of
pay and conditions of Service of the Railway Male Clerical Staff will
apply to men of the above grades, with the exception of Clauses 7 and 8
relating to overtime and Sunday duty, which, with other exceptional
conditions applicable, are provided for below.
PERMANENTLY APPOINTED RELIEF CLERKS
(EXCLUSIVE OF RELIEF CLERKS ATTACHED TO AND EMPLOYED AT ONE STATION).
Sunday duty, irregular hours, emergency work,
travelling time, and being within call outside hours of regular duty.
A commuted or aggregation allowance, separate and distinct
from the salary, will be granted to all permanently appointed Relief Clerks,
to cover Sunday duty, irregular hours, emergency work, travelling time and
being within call outside regular hours of duty on the following basis :—
20 per cent. of annual salary, and floating bonus,
if any, to men who are regularly required to take the place of Station
Masters, Goods Agents or Clerks who incur Sunday duty.
10 per cent. of annual salary, and floating bonus,
if any, to other Relief Clerks who are not required to take the place of
Station Masters, Goods Agents or Clerks who incur Sunday duty.
Should these men be called upon occasionally to
perform Sunday duty, they shall be paid for such duty at the Clerical
scale rates.
This allowance to cover any duty performed on Good
Friday, Christmas Day, and Bank holidays in England, or January 1st and
2nd in Scotland.
Any difference between the Sunday pay received and
the commuted allowance to which a Clerk is entitled to be granted as
from August 1st, 1919.
