9.—Expenses.
Where the men are specially authorised under the new
conditions to charge expenses, the following scale, based upon their
classification, to be applied in all Departments, on the understanding
that in those cases where the salary or wages has previously been
definitely fixed to include expenses, an adjustment shall be made when
the general revision of salaries or equivalent rates takes place.

Where men have hitherto received higher day expenses than
shown above, the present recipients of such higher expenses will continue
to receive the same payment per day as at present, but the concession will
not be extended to their successors.
It is understood that men of the “Special” Class
shall not receive payment for expenses at a rate less than that shown for
Classes 1 and 2.
The undermentioned Supervisors will be authorised to
charge expenses when travelling on the Company’s business, on the
understanding that they perform a full turn of duty, on each day to which
the expense allowance applies, i.e., that the weekly short turn is excluded
from the arrangement.
