→ the salary or equivalent rate according to the extra work they are expected to cover, on the following basis:—

  15 per cent. of Annual Salary or equivalent rate and Bonus if any.   To men working a large proportion of Sunday duty.
  12½per cent.   do.
10   per cent.   do.
  5   per cent.   do.
  Where the full payment of 15 per cent. is not justified, a smaller proportionate allowance to be granted based upon the approximate amount of Sunday duty performed.
    5   per cent.   do.   To men who are required to be always within call unless specially relieved, and to cover irregular hours, emergency work.

Where it is found that certain men are frequently called out for accidents and other casualties, they shall be granted an additional commuted allowance of 5 per cent. of their salary, or equivalent rate, and floating bonus, if any, as a remuneration for the additional work.

No allowance to be made in cases where men are not required to perform any of these services.

These aggregation allowances to cover any duty performed on Good Friday, Christmas Day and on Bank Holidays in England and Wales, and on January 1st and 2nd in Scotland.

Normal Sunday duty to constitute alternate Sundays and consist of not more than eight hours’ work.

Men of the Supervisory Grades who simply come to the Station or Offices to look round and see that matters are in order, will not be entitled to Sunday pay, or aggregation allowance in respect of such duty.

Where men of these Grades have hitherto been paid for Sunday duty, the difference between such payment and the new aggregation allowance for Sunday duty, additional work, emergency calls, and being within call, to be paid to them as from August 1st, 1919.

Where men of these Grades have not hitherto been paid for Sunday duty, the aggregation allowance to date as from August 1st, 1919.

Where men under Category. (B) have not been granted the 48 hours’ week, or have been required to work more than on alternate Sundays, since August 1st, 1919, they will, upon application, be granted an additional allowance on a commuted basis, to recompense them for additional time worked.
