Wherever practicable, men in the Supervisory Grades shall not be required to be “on call” more than alternate days or alternate weeks as may be arranged by the individual Company.

6.—Night Duty.

Men of the Supervisory Grades coming under category “A” (Clause 7 (a)) who work fixed rostered turns of duty, will, be paid at the rate of time and a quarter for all time worked between 10.0 p.m. and 4.0 a.m., in respect to the six turns of duty constituting the week’s work; the seventh or extra turn of duty, where worked, being provided for under Clause 7.

7.—Sunday Duty, Additional Work, Emergency Calls, and being within call outside hours of Regular Duty.

The men in the Supervisory Grades in the different Departments can be defined under two distinct headings, viz. :—

(A) Men who have fixed rostered turns of week-day and Sunday duty, who seldom incur overtime, who are not required to be within call outside their rostered duty, and have no control over the working of overtime and Sunday duty.

(B) Men whose duty cannot be definitely rostered, who work during irregular hours (both week-days and Sundays) and who are required to be within call at all times, unless specially relieved ; also men who, although they have rostered duty, are able to influence the working of overtime or Sunday duty, and are called out in cases of emergency, or are required to be within call unless specially relieved.

Overtime.

(a) The men coming under Category (A) above will be paid for overtime after the rostered hours, when specially sanctioned to be worked by Headquarters, or in such way as may be decided by the individual Company. Where overtime is so sanctioned, the rates of pay will be as under:—
