9. – Payment of Income Tax
The arrangements hitherto existing on certain railways for
the Company to pay Income Tax chargeable to members of the Clerical Staff,
will, under the re-classification, be discontinued.
10. – Weekly Half-Holiday
Clerks continuously on middle turn, i.e., when the hours
of duty fall between 8.0 a.m. and 6.0 p.m., will be put on a week of five
long days and one short day, so arranged that their total rostered weekly
hours will remain the same as at present.
11. – Annual Holiday
After 12 months' service, the following period of holidays
to be given : –

scale of holidays to come into force as from January 1st, 1920. |
Where a longer period of holidays than provided for
above is at present allowed, the longer periods shall be continued to
present recipients, but the privilege shall not be extended to their
successors.
12. – Redundant Staff
Any man who is redundant on March 1st, 1920 (other than
those not exceeding 31 years of age who will be dealt with on the age basis)
shall have his present salary, plus War Bonus, merged into salary, and shall
retain such salary until put into a classified post, when he will be paid a
salary accordingly, on the understanding that any redundant clerk over 31
years of age shall receive not less than a minimum of £100 advance on
his existing salary.
13. – Unappointed Clerks
(a) All permanent clerical positions filled by weekly
wages clerks shall be classified on the same basis as those filled by
salaried clerks.

are exclusively engaged on clerical work which is commensurate in
