MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
IN REGARD TO RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS
OF SERVICE OF RAILWAY MALE CLERICAL
STAFF.
It is agreed that, with certain exceptions mentioned hereafter,
each member of the Male Salaried Clerical Staff employed by all Controlled Railways
of England, Scotland and Wales, and the Railway Clearing House, shall, for the
purpose of fixing the new rate of salary,
be allocated by the employing Company or the Railway Clearing House, to one or other of
the undermentioned classes, and be paid on the scale of salary applicable to the class,
in which he is placed.
1. – Scales of Pay.
The new scales of pay to come into operation as from August 1st,
1919, are as under :–
Junior Clerks.

Senior Clerks.
Class 5.
Junior Clerks will pass into the Fifth Class at age 18, subject to
good conduct, also to successfully passing the examinations prescribed by the
employing Company.
Clerks in the Fifth Class will be paid at the rate fixed for their age as under :–
