Beames 0-8-4T No.7953 posed in LMS days at Canada Dock,
Liverpool, about 1930. It has the small ‘LMS’ insignia
painted on the bunker . The H-section spoke cast iron wheels can be
clearly seen, as are the two front sandboxes (behind the inspector
and the fireman’s legs) and the operating lever (behind
inspectors head). On these massive tanks steps were needed on the
smoke box front (low down, either side) to reach the top
lamp-iron .
