No.3032 ‘Crewe Type’ 2-4-0

No.3032 is a ‘Crewe Type’ 2-4-0 designed by Mr. Trevithick, typified by the framing around the slide valves and cylinders. Many early features can be seen: No cab, simply weather boards  on engine and tender ; raised firebox ; safety valves  on both boiler  and firebox; buffers  mounted on wooden buffer beams ; marine-type connecting rod  ends; clack valve  to feed water into the boiler (above leading wheel, behind smokebox). The driver  wears a bowler hat and a biblical-length beard, while the fireman  might be starting one.
