The carriage shop in 1906 — a foreman Explain 'Foreman', in bowler hat, monitors the lowering of a steel underframe Explain 'Underframe' onto bogies Explain 'Bogie'. The ghostly figures above the nearest bogie are men who moved during the long exposure required for photographs at this time. The wheels are Mansell Explain 'Mansell wheel' type with disk-like centres of wood.
