Two workmen fit axle boxes Explain 'Axle-box' onto the ends of a coach axle. The trolleys either side can be wound up to lift each heavy axle box up onto the bearing Explain 'Bearing'. The workmen are carefully posed with one fitting the box to the bearing, the other just starting the lift. Flat caps appear to be traditional wear.
