The compartment side of a work-a-day arc roof Explain 'Arc Roof Carriage' lavatory corridor third Explain 'Third Class' 50 feet long, probably to diagram 268. It is still gas lit, as can be seen from the thin gas pipe along the roof and the absence of battery boxes. The third and fourth compartments from the right are designated as “Smoking” compartments by the blue label on their right-hand windows. 244 LNWR corridor thirds were built to diagram 268 between 1897 and 1903
